Review: Kaspersky Antivirus 2010

The day has finally arrived when just about anyone can own a computer. Laptops, and even desktop computers, have become very affordable. You can easily find a laptop for less than $300.00 if you catch it on sale. But that is still a major investment no matter how much you spend. So if you are spending money on a computer, you need to protect it the best way possible. That means having an antivirus software program that can fill your needs and still be affordable enough for you to purchase and maintain a subscription. Is Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 that antivirus software?

When you search for any antivirus software, be it Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 or a product from any other company, you have to keep several things in mind. The first is cost. How much does the software cost and can you use it on more than one computer? If you are running multiple computers for a business, then you definitely need a software system that allows you to protect all of your computers.

After you have factored in cost and how many computers the antivirus software covers, you then need to start looking at specifics. You may be tempted by the cheap cost but what are you actually getting. With Kaspersky’s new antivirus software there is a difference between the lower cost of the Antivirus 2010 and the Internet Security 2010. The Antivirus 2010 costs less than $40.00 but it does not offer all the protection that the higher priced Internet Security 2010 offers.

The third factor you should keep in mind is ratings. The website may give you lots of great reviews but you need a third party site that will let all users comment. And unfortunately, the Antivirus 2010 does have some negative feedback. The primary issue seems to be getting it to run on Windows 7, even though it claims it is compatible.

There is a big “but” with Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 that you cannot overlook. It will slow down your computer. And depending on your internet connection it could make surfing the web a whole lot harder. If you already have a slow computer, then this antivirus program is going to anger you. That seems to be where most of the negative comments come from and usually you can go on user comments.
